Introduction to RPGs: The Quiet Year

Wednesday, October 10, 2018 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Price:
$10.00
Description:

Each Wednesday evening, Labyrinth will dedicate one of its tables to a very special, new player friendly RPG encounter. Registration for each encounter will go live on the same day of the previous week's adventure.

This week we will feature The Quiet Year!

Map out the story of a year in the life of your post-apocalyptic community with this RPG from Avery Alder, writer of Monsterhearts.

According to Alder's website, "The Quiet Year is a map game. You define the struggles of a post-apocalyptic community, and attempt to build something good within their quiet year. Every decision and every action is set against a backdrop of dwindling time and rising concern.

"The game is played using a deck of cards – each of the 52 cards corresponds to a week during the quiet year. Each card triggers certain events – bringing bad news, good omens, project delays and sudden changes in luck. At the end of the quiet year, the Frost Shepherds will come, ending the game."

The cost for this event is just $10.

Due to the nature of RPGs, please plan to arrive ten minutes before the starting time so that the game can begin promptly at 6pm. If you show up late, the adventure may begin without you.

Preregistration for this event has closed. Please call the store at 202-544-1059 if you have any questions.
